Team USA bested the hosting Muskegon Lumberjacks 8-4 on Saturday.
The Team USA got off to a good start with a 2-0 lead receiving goals from Brady Berard and Ryan Chesley.
The Lumberjacks narrowed and then closed the gap at 2-2 with goals from Joey Larson and Owen Mehlenbacher in the second period.
But Team USA quickly scored two more goals in the second period to take a commanding lead.
The Lumberjacks narrowed the gap to 4-3 after Jacob Guevin beat the goalie in the period.

In the third, William Smith scored seven minutes into the third period, assisted by Isaac Howard, increasing the lead for the Team USA.
In the third, Rutger McGroarty scored a goal in the 10th minute of the period, assisted by Hunter Brzustewicz and Logan Cooley, increasing the lead for the Team USA.

Both teams are back in action on Friday, with the Lumberjacks hosting the Dubuque Fighting Saints at 6:10 p.m. CST at Mercy Health Arena and the Team USA visiting the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at 6:05 p.m. CST at USA Hockey Arena.
