The Sioux City Musketeers players increased the lead to 2-0 with a minute left in the first period when Kaden Shahan scored, assisted by Ryan Conmy.
Dylan Godbout scored halfway through the second period, assisted by Garrett Brown.
The Sioux Falls Stampede players narrowed the gap to 3-1 right at the start into the third period, after only seven seconds when Max Rud netted one, assisted by Nick Ring and Michael La Starza.
