The Team USA narrowed the gap to 2-1 after Alexander Weiermair found the back of the net in the second period.
The RoughRiders scored again, making it 3-1 with a goal from Jake Percival with 01.24 remaining in the period.
In the third, Robert Flinton scored in the 1st minute of the third period, assisted by Joe Fleming, increasing the lead for the RoughRiders. That left the final score at 4-1.
The RoughRiders were called for 10 penalty minutes, while the Team USA spent 12 minutes in the penalty box.

Both teams are back in action on Sunday, with the RoughRiders hosting Team USA at 4:05 p.m. CST at Cedar Rapids Ice Arena and the Team USA visiting the Green Bay Gamblers at 3:05 p.m. CST at USA Hockey Arena.
