Phantoms couldn't stop red-hot Fighting Saints from winning

The Dubuque Fighting Saints and the Youngstown Phantoms met on Saturday. Dubuque Fighting Saints came into the game off the back of a run of three successive wins and managed to claim yet another vicory. The game finished 5-3.

The hosting team took the lead, with a goal scored by Cole Helm. Shawn O'Donnell and Max Burkholder assisted.

The Phantoms tied it late in the period, after a Braiden Clark goal assisted by Kenta Isogai and Grant Porter.

The Fighting Saints scored again late into the period, after another goal assisted by Michael Feenstra and Shawn O'Donnell.

The Fighting Saints increased the lead to 3-1 in the very last seconds of the first period, with a goal from Stephen Halliday goal, assisted by Lucas Ölvestad and Davis Burnside.

The Fighting Saints scored again, making it 4-1 with a goal from Tristan Lemyre with 08.42 remaining in the second period and came even closer to victory.

The Phantoms narrowed the gap scoring 4-2 and 4-3 after Charlie Lurie och Tiernan Shoudy netted one in the period.

The Fighting Saints increased the lead to 5-3 with 21 seconds of play remaining in the third period after a goal from Max Montes, assisted by Tristan Lemyre.

Both teams were called for eight penalties.

Fighting Saints host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders on Tuesday, April 2 at 7:05 p.m. CST at Mystique Ice Center. Phantoms will face the Chicago Steel home on Friday, April 5 at 6:05 p.m. CST at Covelli Centre.
