Team USA won against the visiting Youngstown Phantoms on Friday, ending 5-3.

The Team USA opened strong, right at the beginning of the game with Gabriel Perreault scoring within the first minute of the first period, assisted by Gracyn Sawchyn.

The Phantoms tied it in the middle of the first period, after a william whitelaw goal assisted by Kenta Isogai and Andrew Centrella.

The Team USA scored again late into the first period, after a Danny Nelson goal assisted by Gabriel Perreault.

The Team USA took the lead 3-1 again when Gracyn Sawchyn scored after 9:00 in the second period.

The Phantoms narrowed the gap to 3-2 after Kenta Isogai netted one in the period.

The Phantoms started the third period strongly and tied the game at 3-3 when Grant Porter beat the goalie after 1:25.

After that though, it was mostly about the Team USA. Team USA regained the lead after 18:20, and eventually pulled ahead with a 5-3 victory.

The teams now have the chance to fine-tune their tactics, as they play each other again in the next matchup on Saturday, April 23 at 6:05 p.m. CST at Covelli Centre.
