The Muskegon Lumberjacks defeated the Youngstown Phantoms 4-1 on Sunday.

It wasn't until 0:57 into the second period that the Phantoms took the lead when Justin Varner opened the scoring goal assisted by Tiernan Shoudy and Trey Taylor.

Phillip Tresca scored at 4:06 into the second, assisted by Quinn Hutson, to give the Lumberjacks the lead.

Jack Williams then tallied a goal at 16:49 of the second period, cutting the deficit to 2-1. Jacob Guevin and Noah Ellis assisted on the play.

The Lumberjacks scored in the third, receiving goals from Quinn Hutson and Parker Lindauer. The final goal came with 01.15 left to play.

The Phantoms were whistled for 10 penalty minutes, while the Lumberjacks received 14 minutes.

Phantoms host Team USA on Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. CST at Covelli Centre. Lumberjacks host the Dubuque Fighting Saints to play Fighting Saints on Friday at 7:05 p.m. CST at Mystique Ice Center.
