The Capitols took the lead at 4:13 of the first period, with a goal scored by Kyle Kukkonen. Quinn Finley and Casey Severo assisted on the play.
William Hallén scored at 9:06 into the second, assisted by Lucas Ölvestad and Max Montes, to give the Fighting Saints the lead.
Max Montes then tallied a goal at 18:39 of the second period, cutting the deficit to 2-1. William Hallén and Michael Burchill assisted on the play.
The Fighting Saints increased the lead to 3-1 with 01.18 of play remaining in the third period after a goal from Max Montes.

The Fighting Saints were called for just six penalty minutes, while the Capitols received 14 minutes.
On Saturday, the Fighting Saints will host the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders at 7:05 p.m. CST at Mystique Ice Center and the Capitols will host the Chicago Steel at 7:05 p.m. CST at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
