Hot start propels Tri-City past Force

Three of Tri-City's first-period tallies came in the first seven minutes

KEARNEY, Neb. — Tri-City scored four first-period goals en route to an 8-3 victory over the Fargo Force on Tuesday in United States Hockey League action at Viaero Center.

Three of Tri-City's first-period tallies came in the first seven minutes. Vincent Borgesi struck first 3 minutes, 59 seconds into the game. Mitchell Miller pushed it to 2-0 6:08 into the period and August Falloon scored the Storm's third goal at the 6:40 mark.

Ryan Alexander put the Force on the board with a goal 8:44 into the first period, assisted by Jakob Stender and Kyle Smolen. Fargo's Tanner Walos found the back of the net with just under a minute remaining in the second frame. Max Smolinksi buried a third Force goal 10:01 into the final frame, but Tri-City (45-11-4) had already scored three of its own third-period goals to put the game out of reach.

Force goalies Louden Hogg and Matej Marinov each tallied 13 saves.

Fargo (26-28-6) is scheduled to host Sioux Falls at 7:05 p.m. Friday at Scheels Arena.
