Fargo Force take down Sioux Falls

Four different skaters found the back of the net for the Force

FARGO — The Fargo Force notched a 4-1 victory over Sioux Falls on Thursday in United States Hockey League action before 3,013 fans at Scheels Arena.

Sioux Falls struck first with a Sam Harris goal 13 minutes, 31 seconds into the first period, but it was all Force from there.

Ryan Alexander buried the equalizer, his 14th goal this season, for Fargo with 41 seconds left in the first period. Kyle Smolen scored 2:32 into the second frame to give the Force the lead. Andre Gasseau scored his 15th goal this season to put the Force out front with two seconds remaining in the second period.

Cooper Gay scored an empty-netter at 18:26 of the third period to put a lid on the Force victory. Joe Palodichuk dished out two assists for Fargo. Force goalie Louden Hogg was strong in net, tallying 23 saves.

Fargo (20-20-5) returns to action at 3:05 p.m. Sunday for a road matchup at Sioux City.
