Fargo Force sweeps Lincoln with shootout victory on Saturday

Andre Gasseau and Bret Link connected on shootout attempts and goalie Matej Marinov stopped two of the three shots he faced and the Force won for a second-straight night at Scheels Arena.

FARGO — Andre Gasseau and Bret Link connected on shootout attempts and the Fargo Force defeated Lincoln 4-3 on Saturday before 2,887 at Scheels Arena.

The win gave the Force a sweep of the weekend series against the Stars.

Fargo rallied from an early two-goal deficit in the first when Felikss Gavars scored on an assist from Ryan Alexander at 17:38, and Gasseau tied it just over a minute later on assists from Erik Bargholtz and Joe Palodichuk.

Cole Knuble put the Force in front 3-2 with a goal at 1:12 of the second period on assists from Max Smolinski and Tyler Rollwagen. Lincoln's Joey Pierce tied it with a short-handed goal at 7:18 of the third period.

Force goalie Matej Marinov turned back 29 shots and he save two of three shots in the shootout.
