The Des Moines Buccaneers players increased the lead to 2-0 with a minute left into the first period when Connor Pelc scored, assisted by Davis Borozinskis and Aiden Van Rooyan.
Joey Muldowney scored early in the second period, assisted by Girts Silkalns and Alex Pineau.
Charlie Lurie narrowed the gap to 3-1 late in the third period, assisted by Alex Bump and Max Wattvil.
