The Des Moines Buccaneers players increased the lead to 2-0 with a minute left into the first period when Connor Pelc scored, assisted by Davis Borozinskis and Aiden Van Rooyan.

Charlie Lurie narrowed the gap to 3-1 late in the third period, assisted by Alex Bump and Max Wattvil.
