Clark Cup-winning head coach leaves Sioux City Musketeers for Ohio State job

Luke Strand will be joining the coaching staff as the associate head coach at Ohio State

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — After leading the Sioux City Musketeers to a Clark Cup championship this past season, head coach Luke Strand is saying goodbye to the organization he has been at the helm of since 2017. Stand is moving from the USHL to the Big 10 where he will be the associate head coach of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

An emotional Strand spoke with the media at the press conference announcing his departure.

Strand first joined the Musketeers organization in 2009 where he served as the organization's general manager and head coach. He coached for the Madison Capitols and the University of Wisconsin, as well as worked as a scout for the Calgary Flames until he ultimately returned to Sioux City. The organization has not yet named their next head coach.
