Capitols win in overtime against Lumberjacks

It was a long and winding road for the Madison Capitols on road against the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the game on Saturday. Madison won in overtime 4-3.
The game-winning goal was scored by Madison's Jake Dunlap.
The hosting Lumberjacks opened strong, as the game was just getting started with Jack Williams scoring right at the start into the first period, after only 18 seconds, assisted by Joey Larson.
The Capitols tied the game 1-1 quickly. Early into the first period Reid Pabich struck, assisted by Luke Mittelstadt and Ben Dexheimer.
The Lumberjacks took the lead in the very last seconds of the first period, with a goal from Jake Richard, assisted by Joey Larson.

The Lumberjacks made it 3-1 again with a goal from Nathan McBrayer at 3:43 into the second period.
The Capitols narrowed the gap to 3-2 after Ben Dexheimer beat the goalie in the period.
In the third period, Matthew McGroarty scored in the second minute of the third period, assisted by Barrett Brooks, to tie the game for the Capitols. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.
In overtime, it took 1:21 before Jake Dunlap scored the game-winner for the away team, assisted by Reid Pabich.
The teams play again on Monday, May 9 at 7 p.m. CST at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena.
