Capitols grab extra point in overtime against Steel

The visiting team took the lead at 12:53 into the first period, with a goal scored by Andon Cerbone. Sam Lipkin and Jayden Perron assisted on the play.
Kyle Kukkonen scored at 7:11 into the second, assisted by Luke Mittelstadt and Ben Dexheimer, to give the Capitols the lead.
Steel's Jackson Blake made it 2-1, after a second-period goal at 11:11, assisted by Adam Fantilli.
Jake Dunlap scored at 14:07 into the second, assisted by Nick DeSantis and Nicholas Wallace, to give the Capitols the lead.

Reid Pabich then tallied a goal at 15:34 of the second period, cutting the deficit to 3-2. Jake Dunlap and Tyler Haskins assisted on the play.
In the third, Tyler Haskins scored seven minutes into the third period, assisted by Jake Dunlap and Ben Dexheimer, increasing the lead for the Capitols.
In the third period, Quinn Finley scored a goal in the 8th minute of the period, assisted by Kyle Kukkonen and Luke Mittelstadt, increasing the lead for the Capitols.
In the third period, Sam Lipkin scored with 4 minutes remaining, assisted by Adam Fantilli and Jackson Blake, closing the gap for the Steel.
The Steel's Joe Miller narrowed the gap again, at 19:43 into the period.
The Steel tied the score 5-5 with four seconds of play remaining after a goal from Joe Miller, assisted by Jake Livanavage.
In overtime, it took 52 seconds before Luke Mittelstadt scored the game-winner for the home team, assisted by Kyle Kukkonen and Casey Severo.
The Capitols were called for 10 penalty minutes, while the Steel received 12 minutes.

Both teams are back in action on Friday, as Capitols host Team USA at 7:05 p.m. CST at Bob Suter's Capitol Ice Arena and Steel visit the Green Bay Gamblers at 7:05 p.m. CST at Fox Valley Ice Arena.
