Black Hawks win in overtime against Musketeers

With no decisive score in regulation, the Sioux City Musketeers' home game against the Waterloo Black Hawks ran into overtime on Friday. Waterloo snatched the win with a final score of 3-2.

The visiting team took the lead at 13:47 of the first period, with a goal scored by Connor Brown. Jake Rozzi and Garrett Schifsky assisted on the play.

The next goal was long overdue. Ray Fust scored at 17:41 into the second, assisted by Connor Brown and John Waldron, to give the Black Hawks the lead.

In the third period, Ben Steeves scored one minute into the third period, assisted by Damien Carfagna and Griffin Ludtke, closing the gap for the Musketeers.

In the third, Owen McLaughlin scored a goal with 3 minutes remaining, assisted by Damien Carfagna and Nick Pierre, to tie the game.

In overtime, it took 1:33 before Jacob Jeannette scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Mason McCormick and Tucker Ness.

Both teams were called for 10 penalty minutes.

The Musketeers are set to face the Sioux Falls Stampede at 6:05 p.m. CST at Denny Sanford Premier Center, while the Black Hawks face the Omaha Lancers at 6:05 p.m. CST at Young Arena. Both games are set for Saturday.
