CHICAGO — How does a kid from the desert get started in hockey? Growing up in Gilbert, Arizona, Jake Livanavage had a few influences.
"My parents bought me a pair of rollerblades when I was about a year old," Livanavage said. "I was rollerskating and walking just about the same time, so I would Rollerblade around the house the whole time."
His dad is from upstate New York which helped introduce him to the game, but it was his brother who had a huge influence on his hockey journey.
"My brother is my best friend," he said. "We've fought some battles in the knee hockey room. If I ever have a question I go to him."
