AMHERST, N.Y. — The top U.S. players who were born in 2005 have been competing for the past week at the Boys 17 Select Player Development Camp. Over 150 players attended the camp but only 39 have been selected to continue on to the prestigious Hlinka Gretzy Cup Camp, where select players will be named to U18 Team USA.
Ten Minnesotans made the roster cut, with a handful of other players who also have ties to the state. These players will spend the next few days trying to showcase their skills against top competition.
The final roster cut that will become Team USA will be released on June 29. The 2022 Hlinka Gretzy Cup will be held July 31 - Aug. 6 in Red Deer, Alberta.
The sophomore defender announced her commitment after a successful season with the Skippers that ended in a Class AA second-place finish.
