Junior Hockey: Willmar WarHawks rout the Loons, 9-3

Willmar out-shoots Minnesota 78-21 in an NA3HL home win

WILLMAR — The Willmar WarHawks easily beat the Minnesota Loons 9-3 Saturday in an NA3HL game at the Willmar Civic Center.

Patrick Wyers and Elbridge DeKraai each had two goals to lead the WarHawks, who improved to 21-14-1 with the victory over the Loons, who are 5-32.

Wyers is a forward from Minnetonka. He now has 20 goals and 20 assists in 26 games for Willmar.

DeKraai is an 18-year-old forward from Willmar who has 13 goals and 14 assists in 28 games for the WarHawks.

Willmar also got goals from Will Anderson, Tyler Misialek, Mikhail Kukareka, Anthony Foster, Shawn Ohlenchlager van Coller.

The WarHawks outshot the Loons, who play their home games in Breezy Point, 78-21.

Willmar and Minnesota play again at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Breezy Point Hockey Center.
