The visiting team took the lead at 10:33 in the first period, with a goal scored by Bohdan Panasenko. Matt Johnson and Jackson Krock assisted on the play.
The Anchorage Wolverines quickly scored two more goals in the second period to take a commanding lead.
The Ice Dogs narrowed the gap to 3-1 after Tyler Stewart scored in the second period.
The Wolverines made it 4-1 again with a goal from Matt Johnson with 08.45 remaining in the third period and took firm control of the game.

Tristan Sarsland narrowed the gap somewhat, but the Ice Dogs didn't come any closer than 4-2.
The Ice Dogs were called for 12 penalty minutes, while the Wolverines spent four minutes in the penalty box.
These teams play each other again on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. CST at Big Dipper Ice Arena.
