Neither the Wolverines nor the Wilderness managed to score in the first two periods.
The Wilderness scored in the third, with two quick goals from Cole Crusberg-Roseen and Max Neill.
The Wolverines were whistled for 22 penalty minutes, while the Wilderness received 32 minutes.
The Wolverines play the Fairbanks Ice Dogs away on Friday at 10:30 p.m. CST at Big Dipper Ice Arena. The Wilderness will face the Kenai River Brown Bears at home on Thursday at 10 p.m. CST at Soldotna Regional Sports Complex.
