Teply's two goals give Brahmas the win

The Lone Star Brahmas defeated the hosting Kenai River Brown Bears on Saturday, ending 5-3.

The Lone Star Brahmas defeated the hosting Kenai River Brown Bears on Saturday, ending 5-3.

The first period was scoreless.

Early into the second period, the Brown Bears took the lead when Ryan Finch opened the scoring assisted by Jack Anderson and Ben Monson.

Brahmas' Dhillon Wilde tallied a goal seven minutes into the period, making the score 1-1.

The Brahmas made it 2-1 late when Matthew Macdonald scored.

Late, the Brown Bears' Hayden Walters scored a goal, assisted by Ryan Finch and Luke Hause, making the score 2-2.

Late, the Brahmas' Mason Mara scored a goal, making the score 3-2.

The Brahmas made it 4-2 with a goal from Jakum Teply at 2:18 into the third period.

The Brown Bears narrowed the gap to 4-3 after Garret Drotts found the back of the net in the period.

The Brahmas managed to decide the game 5-3 with 01.24 left when Jakum Teply netted one.
