Strong third period wins it for Wolverines against Wilderness

A tight game between the home-team Anchorage Wolverines and the visiting Minnesota Wilderness wasn't settled until the third period, when Anchorage scored the game-winning goal, ending it 4-1.

A tight game between the home-team Anchorage Wolverines and the visiting Minnesota Wilderness wasn't settled until the third period, when Anchorage scored the game-winning goal, ending it 4-1.

The first period was scoreless.

The Wolverines made it 1-0 again with a goal from Drake Albers at 19:22 into the second period.

The Wilderness came back and made it 1-1 after Cole Crusberg-Roseen scored the first goal in the period.

The Wolverines dominated the third period, with goals from Matt Johnson, Hunter Bischoff and Drake Albers (2). The final goal came with four seconds left to play.

The teams now have the chance to fine-tune their tactics, as they play each other again in the next matchup on Saturday, May 7 at 10 p.m. CST at Ben Boeke Ice Arena.
