Springfield Jr. Blues beat in overtime the Fairbanks Ice Dogs

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw the Springfield Jr. Blues come away with the close win over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on the road on Saturday. The final score was 3-2.

Springfield's Jake Peterson scored the game-winning goal.

The hosting Ice Dogs took the lead early in the first period, with a goal from Cameron Ricotta. Billy Renfrew and Domenick Evtimov assisted.

The Ice Dogs increased the lead to 2-0 late into the first when Justin Biraben scored, assisted by Tyler Herzberg and Cole Burke.

James Callahan scored early in the second period, assisted by Edvards Bergmanis and Brayden Cook.

Hayden Riva then tallied a goal late, making the score 2-2. Isaac Keller and Jake Peterson assisted.

In overtime, it took 1:26 before Jake Peterson scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Tyler Borgula and Isaac Keller.

The Ice Dogs were whistled for five penalties, while the Jr. Bues received three penalties.
