The Black Bears started the first period strongly and tied the game at 1-0 when Ryan Bottrill opened the scoring after just 1:43.

After that though, it was mostly about the Rebels. The Jamestown Rebels regained the lead after 7:16, and eventually pulled ahead with a 3-1 lead.

The Rebels increased the lead to 4-1 with seven seconds of play remaining in the third period after a goal from Lucas Klemm, assisted by Kolby Amici and John Lundy.

The Rebels were whistled for just four penalty minutes, while the Black Bears received eight minutes.

The teams now have the chance to fine-tune their tactics, as they play each other again in the next matchup on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. CST at Northwest Arena.
