Junior hockey: Warhawks blank Steel, 4-0

Junior hockey report from west central Minnesota for Friday, Feb. 11, 2022. Goaltender Cooper Olson has a good game in Willmar's victory at New Ulm.

NEW ULM — Willmar WarHawks goaltender Cooper Olson got his third shutout of the season in a 4-0 NA3HL win Friday over the New Ulm Steel.

The netminder from Maple Grove made 23 saves in the victory. He is 11-3-0 this season with a 2.06 goals against average and a .933 save percentage.

The WarHawks went up 3-0 after the first period with goals by Nolan Grier, Tyler Misialek and Anthony Foster. Foster tacked on one more goal in the third.

The teams resume their weekend series at 7:10 p.m. Saturday at the Willmar Civic Center Arena.
