Junior Hockey: Two-goal third sends Willmar home a winner

Keller, Foster each score late in WarHawks' 4-2 win at Alexandria

ALEXANDRIA — With two goals in the third period, the Willmar WarHawks pulled away for a 4-2 NA3HL junior hockey win over the Alexandria Blizzard on Saturday at the Runestone Community Center.

Tied 2-2 after two periods, Willmar took the lead for good on Blake Keller’s 20th goal of the season at 1 minute, 44 seconds. He is a forward from St. Cloud. Then with 41 seconds to play, Anthony Foster scored an empty-netter for his second goal of the game. Foster is a forward from Warroad.

The WarHawks’ first goal of the game came from Nickita Moiseev at 6:04 of the second period. It was the first goal of the season for the forward from Birmingham, Michigan.

Willmar and Alexandria meet again at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday at the Willmar Civic Center.
