Jackalopes beat Ice Wolves – despite trailing early

The Jackalopes started the first period strongly and tied the game at 1-0 when William Marshall opened the scoring after just 1:20.
After that though, it was mostly about the Ice Wolves. The New Mexico Ice Wolves regained the lead after 9:52, and eventually pulled ahead with a 3-1 lead.
The Jackalopes narrowed the gap to 3-2 after Rylan Yates beat the goalie in the second period.
The Ice Wolves made it 4-2 with a goal from Dillan Bentley with 03.18 remaining in the period.

But the Jackalopes made four straight goals and went from 4-2 to 6-4.
The Ice Wolves narrowed the gap to 6-5 after Dillan Bentley scored in the third period.
The Jackalopes managed to decide the game 7-5 with 05.53 left when Tanyon Bajzer netted one.
The Jackalopes were whistled for 14 penalty minutes, while the Ice Wolves spent 12 minutes in the penalty box.
The teams now have the chance to fine-tune their tactics, as they play each other again in the next matchup on Saturday at 7:15 p.m. CST at Ector County Coliseum.
