Ice Wolves win in overtime against Warriors

The New Mexico Ice Wolves managed to squeeze out an overtime road win against the Wichita Falls Warriors, ending 5-4 in the action on Friday.

The New Mexico Ice Wolves managed to squeeze out an overtime road win against the Wichita Falls Warriors, ending 5-4 in the action on Friday.

The game-winning goal was scored by New Mexico's Jake Keller.

The Ice Wolves took the lead with a minute left in the first period, with a goal scored by Nicloas Haviar. Dillan Bentley assisted.

The New Mexico Ice Wolves scored two more goals in the second period to take a commanding lead.

The Warriors narrowed the gap scoring 3-1 and 3-2 after BRENDAN WILLIAMS och Dean Bauchiero beat the goalie in the second period.

In the third, Hunter Jones scored five minutes into the third period, assisted by Joseph Harguindeguy, to tie the game.

In the third period, Sully Scholle scored his second goal in the ninth minute of the period, assisted by Dillan Bentley, giving the Ice Wolves 4-3 a lead.

In the third, Dean Bauchiero scored his second goal 10 minutes into the period, assisted by Adisen Brueck and Owen Baumgartner, to tie the game for the Warriors. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 41:49 before Jake Keller scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Joe Prouty and Grant Ellings.

The teams will soon play again in the next matchup on Saturday, April 30 at 7:15 p.m. CST at Kay Yeager Coliseum.
