On Friday, the Corpus Christi IceRays ended their wretched run of nine straight defeats with a win over the Amarillo Wranglers. The final score was 3-2.

Corpus Christi's Stepan Kuznetsov scored the game-winning goal.

The hosting IceRays started off strong and took the lead right after the puck drop with Leonhard Korus scoring in the first period, a goal assisted by Peteris Purmalis and Michael Casey.

The Wranglers tied the game 1-1 with a goal from Jacob Halliday in the first period, assisted by Chase Davis and Rihards Simanovics.

Michael Casey scored early in the second period, assisted by Connor Brust and Ryan Hintz.

Wranglers' CJ Zezima tallied a goal late, making the score 2-2. Trey Williams and Jase Sofo assisted.

Stepan Kuznetsov took the lead early into the third period, assisted by Cameron Crolley and Dominic Foglia.
