El Bashir scores twice in Black Bears' win

The Maryland Black Bears bested the visiting New Mexico Ice Wolves 5-2 on Saturday.

The Maryland Black Bears bested the visiting New Mexico Ice Wolves 5-2 on Saturday.

The Black Bears started off well with a 2-0 lead with two quick goals from Kal Essenmacher and Kareem El Bashir.

Sean Kilcullen scored late in the second period, assisted by Christian Catalano and Gunnar VanDamme.

The Black Bears quickly scored two more goals in the third period, and broke the game open.

William Howard och Jake Keller narrowed the gap somewhat, but the Ice Wolves didn't come any closer than 5-2. The Maryland Black Bears took a safe victory.

The Black Bears chalked up four straight home wins.
