Corpus Christi IceRays dig deep in the third to win against New Mexico Ice Wolves

The New Mexico Ice Wolves and the visiting Corpus Christi IceRays were tied going into the third, but Corpus Christi pulled away for a 6-4 victory in game action.

The New Mexico Ice Wolves and the visiting Corpus Christi IceRays were tied going into the third, but Corpus Christi pulled away for a 6-4 victory in game action.

The hosting team took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Jack Dalton. Yusaku Ando and Jeff Hutchinson assisted.

The Ice Wolves increased the lead to 2-0 with a goal from Sully Scholle with a minute left into the first, assisted by Hunter Hastings and Nikolai Dulak.

Four goals were scored in the second period with the score being tied at 3-3 going in to the second break.

Hans Martin Ulvebne took the lead in the middle of the third period, assisted by Cameron Crolley and Stepan Kuznetsov.

Michael Casey increased the lead to 5-3 four minutes later, assisted by Leonhard Korus and Anthony Cafarelli.

William Howard narrowed the gap to 5-4 just one minute later, assisted by Yusaku Ando and Jack Dalton.

The IceRays increased the lead to 6-4 with 48 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Anthony Cafarelli, assisted by Michael Casey.
