The Steel took the lead early into the first period, with a goal from Joe Kelly. Peyton Platter assisted.
Matthew Brille scored late in the second period, assisted by Cody Kempf and Sam Rice.
Windigo's Everett Pietila tallied a goal late, making the score 2-1. Cameron Boche and Paul Huglen assisted.
Ryan Remick increased the lead to 3-1 early into the third period, assisted by Matthew Grannan and Will Killoran.
Zachary Burfoot narrowed the gap to 3-2 five minutes later, assisted by Luke Levandowski and Samuel Jacobs.
Sam Rice increased the lead to 4-2 five minutes later, assisted by Kade Nielsen.
The Windigo narrowed the gap to 4-3 with 01.24 remaining of the third after a goal from Victor Widlund, assisted by Will Schumacher and Tyler Grahme.
The Steel were called for no penalties, while the Windigo received no penalties.
