Brahmas beat in overtime the Mudbugs

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw the Lone Star Brahmas come away with the close win over the Shreveport Mudbugs on road on Saturday. The final score was 4-3.

The game-winning goal was scored by Lone Star's Ray Murakami.

The visiting team took the lead late into the first period in the first period, with a goal scored by Nicholas Niemo. Artur Turansky and Logan Tobias assisted.

Burke Simpson scored late in the second period, assisted by Davis Goukler and Connor Gatto, to give the Mudbugs the lead.

In the third period, Nicholas Niemo scored his second goal in the fifth minute of the third period, giving the Brahmas 2-1 a lead.

In the third, Jacob Onstott scored six minutes into the period, assisted by Austin Brimmer, to tie the game for the Mudbugs.

In the third, Hayden Nichol scored a goal 12 minutes into the period, assisted by Gunner Moore and Lukas Sedlacek, giving the Mudbugs 3-2 a lead.

In the third period, Jack Collins scored a goal with 4 minutes remaining, assisted by Dylan Smith and Johan Rosenquist, to tie the game. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

In overtime, it took 59 seconds before Ray Murakami scored the game-winner for the away team.

The teams will soon play again in the next matchup on Monday, May 2 at 7 p.m. CST at NYTEX Sports Centre.
