Anchorage Wolverines beat in overtime the Fairbanks Ice Dogs

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw the Anchorage Wolverines come away with the close win over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs at home on Friday. The final score was 6-5.

The teams were tied after 60 minutes but overtime saw the Anchorage Wolverines come away with the close win over the Fairbanks Ice Dogs at home on Friday. The final score was 6-5.

Anchorage's Hayden Hennen scored the game-winning goal.

The Ice Dogs took the lead late into the first period, with a goal from Billy Renfrew. Cameron Ricotta and Joey Potter assisted.

The Wolverines tied the game 1-1 with a goal from Jackson Reineke late in the first, assisted by Fedya Nikolayenya.

The Wolverines scored three goals in second period an held the lead 4-3 going in to the second break.

Colin Goff tied the game 4-4 halfway through the third period, assisted by Marc Lund.

Kole Altergott took the lead two minutes later, assisted by Justin Chaput.

The Wolverines tied the score 5-5 with 20 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Fedya Nikolayenya, assisted by Layten Liffrig and Aiden Westin.

In overtime, it took 1:03 before Hayden Hennen scored the game-winner for the home team, assisted by Aiden Westin and Cameron Morris.

Both teams were called for six penalties.
