Girls hockey: Fargo Davies edges Bismarck in shootout

The teams tied 2-2 in regulation but the Eagles prevailed 2-0 in the shootout following overtime.

FARGO — Fargo Davies rebounded after losing a lead and defeated Bismarck in a shootout on Saturday.
The teams were tied 2-2 after regulation and overtime, and Davies won the shootout 2-0.
The teams played almost 38 minutes of scoreless hockey after Bismarck's Avery Matt tied the game at 4:20 of the second period.
Bismarck was first on the scoreboard when Cameron Schmidt scored at 13:13 of the first period. Davies tied it on Morgan Sauvegeau's goal at 1:22 of the second period on assists from Kaylie Zimmerman and Taylor Severson.
Olivia Opheim put the Eagles up 2-1 with a goal 31 seconds later on assists from Kylie Autrey and Mathilde Vetter.
Davies goalie Noelle Lewis stopped 28 of 30 shots.
