FARGO — West Fargo Sheyenne found its way past Fargo North after an eventful third period, securing a 5-4 win in North Dakota East Region boys hockey Tuesday night.
After Andrew Roth's goal in the second period, the Mustangs took a 3-1 lead into the third. The Spartans rallied with a trio of goals from Logan Olson, Owen Bartz and Nathanial Fritel to regain the lead. Sheyenne responded with less than four minutes remaining when Kai Trudeai and Tyler Misialek each buried a goal within 15 seconds of each other to secure the win.
Quade Peters added a pair of goals for the Mustangs (3-0), while Peyton Buchholz tallied 30 saves.
Brendan Richards scored the game's first goal for North (1-3), with Bartz adding two assists.
