Fargo North-South 5, Minot 2
MINOT, N.D. — North-South finished strong to take down Minot on Friday in North Dakota girls hockey.
Both squads traded goals in the first period, with Minot’s Taylyn Cope and North-South’s Josie Hell both finding the back of the net. Jerica Friese tallied two goals within two minutes of each other in the second period to give the Spartans a 3-1 lead.
Evelyn Olson and Bella Ensrud added goals in the third to seal the win. North-South outshot Minot 37-17, while goalie Alex Kinney made 15 saves.
North-South improved to 15-4-2 overall, while Minot fell to 9-8-2 overall.
Fargo Davies 4, Mandan 1
FARGO — Davies cruised to an in-state victory over Mandan to remain undefeated this season.
Olivia Opheim netted two goals for the Eagles, the first goal of the game in the first period, and a second to close the game in the third. Maddy Green and Taylor Severson both found the back of the net in between Opheim’s goals. Kaia Johnson recorded two assists.
Margaux Kautzmann registered the lone goal for Mandan midway through the third period.
The Eagles rose to 18-0-2 overall, while Mandan fell to 9-12 on the year.
West Fargo United 7, Williston 1
WILLISTON, N.D. — West Fargo United breezed by Williston on the road.
United moved to 8-12 this season, while Williston dropped to 0-19-1.
