RED WING — Grace Kober turned in an outstanding performance in goal, and Devynn Priest turned in an outstanding performance in front of her.

Priest took care of the scoring, Kober took care of keeping Red Wing from scoring as Rochester Mayo beat the Wingers 4-0 in a Big Nine Conference girls hockey game at Prairie Island Arena.

Kober turned away all 23 shots she faced and Priest recorded a hat track — the first of her senior season — in the victory.

Elizabeth Arendt also scored for the Spartans, who improved to 3-5-0.

Elle Roth, Luella Bianco, Milla Sadowy and Claire Siems had one assist each for Mayo, which heavily outshot the Wingers, 40-23.

Red Wing goalie Leigha Kitzmann held her team in the game by making 36 saves, including 27 through the first two periods.

The Wingers drop to 3-8-0 with the loss and play at Albert Lea at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.

Mayo hosts Mankato West at 2 p.m. Saturday.

RICHFIELD — Academy of Holy Angels scored 33 seconds into the second period, starting a snowball effect that led to five goals in the period, as the Stars beat Rochester Lourdes 7-0 in a non-conference girls hockey game at Richfield Ice Arena on Tuesday.

Holy Angels (6-4-0) led 1-0 after one period and 6-0 after two. It outshot Lourdes 57-21 in the game.

Ella Clow led the way for the Stars with a hat trick and two assists.

Ida Huber stopped 50 of the 57 shots she faced in goal for the Eagles (5-8-0).

Lourdes hosts Windom Area at noon on Saturday.

WINONA — Owatonna scored five first-period goals and limited Winona to six shots on goal in the game as the Huskies earned a 13-0 girls hockey victory against the Winhawks at Bud King Ice Arena.

Samantha Bogen scored five goals for the Huskies, and Ezra Oien led the way with two goals and four assists.

Ava Wolfe made six saves in the victory for Owatonna (13-1-0).

Winona’s Aliya Gricius made 44 stops.
