MOORHEAD, Minn. -- In a season in which the Moorhead Spuds piled up wins and qualified for the Minnesota state high school boys hockey tournament, the team's top line has been heralded for lighting the lamp.

The Spuds have a talented group of defensive-minded players, though, and have a unique distinction in the state.

Moorhead is the only school with a player up for both the Mr. Hockey and Frank Brimsek awards.

Goalie Hudson Hodges is one of three finalists for the Frank Brimsek award, honoring the senior goalie of the year in Minnesota.

Defenseman Luke Gramer finds himself among 10 finalists for the Minnesota Mr. Hockey award.

Both awards will be handed out during the 36th annual Mr. Hockey awards banquet on Sunday, March 8, in St. Paul.
