BENSON — The Becker/Big Lake boys hockey team deprived Morris/Benson Area of a 20-win regular season Thursday with a 6-5 victory over the Storm.

The Eagles’ Dillon Lindenau scored with 37 seconds remaining to lift BBL to the victory and improve its record to 3-22.

MBA (19-5) trailed 2-1 after one, but grabbed a 3-2 lead midway though the second period on a pair of goals by Brady Loge. BBL tied it up at 12:21 of the second on Tyler Schmitt’s power-play goal, but MBA’s Zander Hoffman made it 4-3 with a goal at 16:56.

The teams traded goals early in the third period. Schmitt scored at 3:01 to tie it up. Then, MBA’s Hunter Blume scored at 3:35 to give the Storm a 5-4 lead.

But, BBL’s Ethan Tobako tied it up again at 5:42 before Lindenau’s game-winner.

Brainerd got goals from Eric Pohlkamp and Mike Laber to beat River Lakes at Paynesville Arena.

Pohlkamp’s goal was assisted by Jacob Drietz. Laber’s goal included assists from Haden Kruse and Christian Kadolph.

Brainerd out-shot River Lakes 23-6 through two periods.
