After completing the comeback on Thursday night in Rogers, the Alexandria girls hockey team capped off its week with a dominating 6-1 win over East Grand Forks at the Runestone Community Center.

The Cardinals (11-5-3) scored two first-period goals from Kaci Trosvig and Ella Johnston. Alexandria opened up the game in the second period with two goals from Hanley Block and one from Makenna Aure.

EGF’s Kylie Stauss scored late in the second period to cut Alexandria’s lead to 5-1. Stauss scored the lone goal for the Green Wave (7-10) on Friday night.

Jordan O’Kane tuned in a great performance in goal for the Cardinals. She stopped 18 shots to get her sixth win of the season.

Alexandria is no longer in Section 6A, but they’ll see the defending champions at home on Thursday night. Fergus Falls (9-11) beat Alexandria in the section championship last year 3-1 to go to the state tournament.
