The Hornets took the lead early in the first period, with a goal from Eliza Fraley. Nora McConnell and Stella Hankinson assisted.
The Hornets' Ellie Chapman increased the lead to 2-0 in the middle of the first, assisted by Camille Dubuc and Cate McCoy.
In the end the 3-0 came from Gigi Sanders who increased the Hornets' lead, assisted by Tori Anderson, late into the third period. The 3-0 goal held up as the game winner.
