The Wolverines' Austyn Oothoudt increased the lead to 2-0 late into the first, assisted by Jack Koranda.

The Lightning scored four goals in second period an held the lead 4-2 going in to the second break.

The Lightning increased the lead to 5-2 within the first minute of the third period when Jerome Martin found the back of the net yet again, assisted by Isaac Peterson.

The Lightning increased the lead to 6-2, after only 22 seconds into the third period when Darby Boelter beat the goalie.

Finnegan Fogarty increased the lead to 7-2 late in the third, assisted by Kolbe Severson and Darby Boelter.

Both teams are back in action on Saturday, with the Lightning hosting Little Falls at 7 p.m. CST at Essential Health Sports Center, and the Wolverines visiting Fergus Falls at 7 p.m. CST at Fergus Falls Community Arena.
