Edina Hornets win and move on

The Edina Hornets have won against the Benilde-St. Margaret's Red Knights 5-2.

The Red Knights took the lead early into the first period, with a goal from Peter Giertsen. Michael Risteau and Mason McElroy assisted.

The Hornets tied it up 1-1 in the first period when Bobby Cowan scored, assisted by Jackson Nevers.

The Hornets took the lead with a goal from John Warpinski halfway through the first, assisted by John Halverson.

Charlie Sandven increased the lead to 3-1 early in the third period.

Jackson Nevers increased the lead to 4-1 five minutes later.

Peter Giertsen narrowed the gap to 4-2 two minutes later.

Mason West increased the lead to 5-2 three minutes later, assisted by Caden Morgan and Ryan Flaherty.
