The Holy Family defeated the visiting Shakopee 5-1 on Thursday.

The hosting Holy Family players opened strong, with Maddy Helmstetter scoring in the first minute, a goal.

The Shakopee players tied the score 1-1 early into the first period when Annika Willmert scored the first goal, assisted by Rilee Nash and Callie Peterson.

Maddy Helmstetter scored in the second period, assisted by Justina Valentini and Josie Linn.

In the middle of the second period, the Holy Family players made it 3-1 with a goal from Grayson Limke.

The Holy Family players increased the lead to 4-1 early in the third period when Haley Box beat the goalie, assisted by Josie Linn.

Katya Sander increased the lead to 5-1 two minutes later, assisted by Ella Knewtson and Maielle Schugel.
