The Cardinals opened strong, with Callahan Nauss scoring in the first minute, a goal assisted by Brady Lindauer and Gabe Potyk.

The Pipers' Ike Taraszewski tied the game 1-1 in the first period, assisted by Andrew Erwin and Brandon Bissett.

Warner Young took the lead in the third period, assisted by Kasyn Kruse and Bud Winter.

Bailey Sommers tied the game 2-2 eight minutes later, assisted by Joe Collins.

The Pipers took the lead with 01.14 remaining of the third period after a goal from Sam Dabrowski, assisted by Bailey Sommers and Joe Collins.
