Fairmont dig deep in the third to win against Austin

The Fairmont and the visiting Austin were tied going into the third, but Fairmont pulled away for a 5-4 victory in game action.

The Fairmont and the visiting Austin were tied going into the third, but Fairmont pulled away for a 5-4 victory in game action.

The Fairmont players started off strong and took the lead right after the beginning of the game with Brooklyn Murphy scoring in the first period, a goal assisted by Abigail Sundeen.

The Austin players tied the game 1-1 in the middle of the first period when Sarah Wangen scored.

Four goals were scored in the second period with the score being tied at 3-3 going in to the second break.

Karissa Newville took the lead early in the third period, assisted by Shaye Dietz.

Hannah Goerndt increased the lead to 5-3 two minutes later, assisted by Isabella Larson and Brooklyn Murphy.

Sarah Wangen narrowed the gap to 5-4 less than a minute later.
