The Mercyhurst Lakers players took the lead early in the first period, a goal by Sydney Pedersen. Jordan Mortlock and Sara Boucher assisted.

The Cornell Big Red players tied the game 1-1 late into the first when Alyssa Regalado scored, assisted by Kaitlin Jockims and Rory Guilday.

The second period ended with a 5-1 lead for the Cornell Big Red players.

The Cornell Big Red players increased the lead to 6-1 right at the start into the third period, after only 38 seconds when Alyssa Regalado scored yet again, assisted by McKenna Van Gelder and Ashley Messier.

Izzy Daniel increased the lead to 7-1 eight minutes later, assisted by Lily Delianedis and Gillis Frechette.

The Mercyhurst Lakers players narrowed the gap to 7-2 with 01.27 of play remaining into the third period after a goal from Kylee Mahoney, assisted by Sara Boucher.
