ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Five women's hockey players and four men's players have been been named All-America Scholar Athletes by the American Hockey Coaches Association.
The five women are forwards Brooke Kudirka and forward Laura Kluge, goalie Emma Polusny and defensemen Kenzie Wylie and Annika Fazokas.
To be eligible, players must have a 3.75 grade-point average during fall semester and play in 40 percent of their team's games.
Kudirka, who recently completed her senior season, is the first player in program history to earn the honor four times.
A finance major, Kudirka is from Omaha, Neb. Kluge and Polusny, who both will be seniors in the fall, earned the honor for the third time in their respective careers. Kluge, who is from Berlin, Germany, is majoring in business administration. Polusny, who is from Mound, Minn., is majoring in mass communications.
Wylie is from Ham Lake, Minn., and will be a senior this fall and Fazokas is from Zell Am See, Austria, and will be a sophomore.
Kuster, who is from St. Louis, Mo., received his undergraduate degree in the spring of 2018 with a major in psychology and a minor in human relations. A three-time NCHC Scholar-Athlete, he took graduate level courses in educational administration and leadership in 2019-20 in his last season of eligibility.
Anderson, who is from Winnipeg, Manitoba, will be a senior in the fall. He is also a three-time NCHC Scholar-Athlete and is majoring in biomedical science.
Hammer, who is from St. Cloud, Minn., will be a senior in the fall. He is a management major.
Brand, who is from Nevis, Minn., will be a sophomore in the fall.
SCSU Hockey Alumni Youth Camp is Aug. 25-27
The St. Cloud State Men's Hockey Alumni Youth Hockey Camp will be Aug. 25-27 at Plymouth Ice Center. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 7-13 and features instruction former Huskies players and the team's current coaching staff.
The camp will be part of several men's hockey alumni events, including alumni games on Aug. 27y in Plymouth and the SCSU Men's Hockey Alumni Golf Tournament on Aug. 28 at Territory Golf Club in St. Cloud.
The youth camp will be from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. each day. Each day, there will be two hours of on-ice instruction, one our of off-ice instruction, games, activities, classroom time and lunch. Cost is $239 per player.
The alumni game times are 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Aug. 27. Cost is $20 per player (currently free when you use the discount code Alumni20 at checkout). There will be an alumni gathering starting at about 7:30 p.m. at Lord Fletcher's on Lake Minnetonka after the games.
The golf tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Aug. 28.

Numbers for new players
There will be six new players on the St. Cloud State men's roster in the fall. Here are the numbers that they will wear: defenseman Brady Ziemer (2), defenseman Seamus Donohue (3), forward Jack Johnston (7), forward Jared Cockrell (21), forward Joe Molenaar (22) and Veeti Miettinen (29).
Donohue is a graduate transfer who played the last three seasons at Michigan Tech. Cockrell is a graduate transfer who played the last three seasons at Colgate. The other four players are freshmen.
