ST. CLOUD, Minn. — From 2015-20, the St. Cloud State men's hockey team enjoyed some of its greatest regular season success and suffered some of its biggest postseason disappointments.
The Huskies won the NCHC regular season title in the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons, won the NCHC Frozen Faceoff title in 2016 and lost in the opening round of the NCAA Division I playoffs three times.
The players reunite from their homes in Minnesota, California and Florida.
Ahcan played defense for the Huskies from 2016-20. In 144 career college games, Ahcan had 21 goals, 82 assists, 103 points and 123 penalty minutes. He is tied for 10th in the program's Division I era in assists, which also is tops among its defensemen. He is third among program defensemen in career points. Ahcan was a two-time All-NCHC Second Team pick and was named an AHCA Second Team West All-American in 2018-19 when he had 35 points and was a plus-24 in 39 games. He recently signed with the Boston Bruins as a free agent.
Jackson played forward for the Huskies from 2015-19. In 149 career games, Jackson had 52 goals, 69 assists, 121 points and 42 penalty minutes. He is tied for 16th in career goals, tied for 17th in career points, tied for 24th in career assists and tied for fourth in career short-handed goals (6). In 2017-18, he received All-NCHC honorable mention honors after leading the team in assists (27) and points (42) in 40 games. Jackson recently completed his first full pro season splitting time between the ECHL's Tulsa Oilers and the AHL's San Antonio Rampage.
Jack Poehling played forward for the Huskies from 2016-20. In 144 career games, he had 30 goals, 31 assists, 61 points and 77 penalty minutes.
Nick Poehling played forward for the Huskies from 2016-20. In 143 career games, he had 25 goals, 41 assists, 66 points and 66 penalty minutes. In 2019-20, Nick was named All-NCHC honorable mention after tying for the team lead in assists (18) and finishing second on the team in points (26) in 34 games.
Ryan Poehling played forward for the Huskies from 2016-19. In 107 career games, he had 29 goals, 46 assists, 75 points and 76 penalty minutes. In 2018-19, Ryan was named to the All-NCHC First Team when he had career bests of 23 assists and 31 points in 34 games. A first-round draft pick of the Montreal Canadiens, Ryan has split the 2019-20 season between the AHL's Laval Rocket and the Canadiens.
